The rule to avoid a jobless future where people are in basic support like in The Expanse is: Machines, AI and automation are meant to help us, not replace us. * A machine should not replace a human, every self-driving car should have a human driver and the driving job spread evenly between human/machine * Every drone delivering packages should work alongside a human delivering packages. * Every robot picking up trash or sweeping streets should have a human companion doing half the work the machine does. This is how you keep a workforce and quality of life without destroying your society.

It's interesting how now in 2021 there's a "labor shortage" in the US and employers are complaining that no one is taking the minimum wage jobs. I'm not saying this video is wrong, but perhaps the changes described in this video will affect us much slower than described.

Think about ordering some boba by your doorstep, now think 5 years from now when an app receives your order and inputs your location to a machine and a car drives to the location automatically with nobody in the car then placing it by your doorstep and sending you a notification, the technology is basically here and nobody has to do any manual labour, also boba is amazing.

To be honest? Let them take the jobs. Let them do the things that are required, and let humans rest, finally, no longer burdened by "I need a job to survive". So you won't have a job. There's more than enough money in the world now to make it so that everyone has an allowance, the same amount of money for EVERYONE. Who decided things had value? A tribe, thousands or millions of years ago, when all you had wasn't enough to keep you alive? That isn't the case now. We have more than enough. Food? Free. Clean water? Free. Housing? Free. I'm...so confused by people.

Really scary sh*t - what I don't understand is this : okay "humans need not apply" but if these "creatures" will replace a large chunk of humans, that means a HUGE crisis is on the way, not just for the unemployed, but for the corporations themselves, if they leave us with no jobs, then with what money will their consumers (which is whom they depend on to make a profit) be able to buy? If they leave the regular population jobless, then to whom are they going to sell their junk?

That is the stance taken by more positive-minded people, but there are some asterisks to address. The first and biggest problem is that, while automation could take over all or most of human labour, this would not mean we have infinite resources. Some kind of system needs to exist to regulate how many resources a single person can consume to prevent individuals or groups from hoarding as many resources as possible, using the artificial scarcity of resources to assert their dominance over others. The second problem is that this scenario is completely alien to our current situation. For as long as civilization has existed work has been a cornerstone of the human experience. Sure, the extremely powerful and the crippled might have experienced a life without work, but those are exceptions. Throughout history, people have always worked, either to produce resources they themselves needed or to help circulate resources through the society they were part of. The transition to a society where people are essentially free to spend their lives as they please with resources freely distributed where needed is going to be difficult and very likely messy if it's even possible. Third, and this is the most sensitive issue, the people with the most power don't want this to happen. It's been noted that people with a lot of money (or power through other means) develop a mindset where it's difficult to feel empathy or sympathy for anyone they aren't personally close to. The result is that they see no benefit in sharing the wealth of automation with others, while they do see that in a world of automation the majority of people are no longer necessary. At best that results in them wishing to keep the majority of people in poverty and hoard all the resources for themselves, at worst they'd gladly wipe out most of humanity. None of these challenges are insurmountable, but they would have to be acknowledged and addressed if we want to work our way towards a utopia.

I think In restaurants, They should keep human being for waiters and stuff because the provide the human interaction that robots will probably never learn anytime soon because we know they are just robots and in most restaurants you cant see the chef or start a conversation making restaurants still feel like home even though robots are making your food. This is also works for coffee shops and fast food.

The answer to his last question is Universal Basic Income, something the elites are talking about A LOT lately. That means if you're a lawyer, doctor, engineer, you'll be making less... The other thing they want to do, (since global warming is a crisis) is sustainable living and have majority, if not all, of people living in major cities and very likely, places that maybe have 500 to 1000 square feet per person. So, if you live in a huge house or on an acreage, you won't be able to afford it anymore. Why, because of sustainable living and the global warming crisis. Guess what though, this only applies to us common folk. If you're famous, Hollywood star like Leonardo DiCaprio, or a politician, or a silicon valley mogul, you can have and do what you want... How do I know all this? I do my research. It's all out there for us to know. The elites don't hide it and haven't been hiding it for decades. The Great Reset idea has been floating around for a long time. If you're someone who doesn't know this stuff, ask yourself, have you called someone you know a Conspiracy Theorist? Chances are they wanted to tell you about all this, and you hid from it. Well, it's coming for you whether you like it or not.

Can't believe I have to say this : horses can't retrain to do new jobs. People can. And even when they can't, their kids can. Automation eliminates specific jobs but it does not reduce the total number of jobs. The machine that does the work of ten workers can more profitably used to allow those ten workers to do ten times the work. If automation eliminated jobs, we would have no jobs right now. But human labour is always far too valuable a resource to remain unexploited. The Luddites are and always have been wrong. Individual workers lose their jobs but the economy creates new ones. Again : I can't believe I have to keep explaining this.

Most probably in the future human population will decrease. Out of the need to avoid extinction humans will limit what robots can do. Otherwise in a robot-centric world the population will continue to decrease until humans become arbitrary and extinct, progress continues but that isn't our problem anymore since we won't be there. Ideally we would have a human-centric world where robots continue as our most powerful tools to help us unlock more of our latent potential, solving declining health, death, dna degradation, memory and muscle deterioration, etc. We develop ourselves to a point where regular physics becomes most possibly our biggest limitation and we continuosly develop from there. If we don't die out first. Progress isn't a problem, moderation of progres would be.
